There is also an increase of 2,196% increase in hydroxychloroquine tablet orders with a fill rate as low as 12.1%. Vizient asks the White House Coronavirus Task Force and the FDA to redirect the supply of these drugs from retail pharmacy settings to acute care environments and hospitals.
While the shortage of N-95 masks continues, those on the front-line are forced to wear the same mask for their entire 12-hour shift or are asked to forgo a mask at all – putting them at increased risk of contracting the virus. The CDC released a comprehensive list of N-95 manufacturers that are NIOSH-approved.
The President has invoked the Defense Production Act directing GM to begin the production of ventilators. The act halts the ongoing negotiations and demands production. No supply amount or timeline for production has been released.
